Preschool

The early childhood program provides a foundation that nurtures the child through all stages of development in a safe and beautiful environment. At St. Luke's Preschool young children begin to learn about their rich Roman Catholic heritage through daily prayer, Bible stories, and activities.  In addition, we strive to create an atmosphere that stimulates learning and promotes individual growth.

The early childhood space is spacious, warm, and filled with playthings of natural materials. Storytelling, poetry, and singing encourage the power of imagination and give the children a rich language experience. A balance of individual play and group activity give the children a chance to learn about themselves, their world, and those around them. Children further explore through activities such as creative play, music, drama, painting, drawing, modeling, baking, nature experiences, and movement. These activities enrich the early childhood experience and create a positive bridge from home to school.

St. Luke's Preschool was the winner of a 2004 SPICE award (Selected Programs for Improving Catholic Education) in the area of Early Childhood Education.
